- Astolfo likes cute things
- He likes animals. He's ridden a griffin, a hippogriff, and a horse named Rabicano... that's "made of hurricane and flame", "eats air" and doesn't leave footprints in sand because it treads so lightly.
- He's immensely energetic and incredibly optimistic
- He's also extremely friendly unless he doesn't like you. If he doesn't like you he'll be completely uncooperative.
- He's bisexual. He doesn't care about gender differences at all. All that matters is that the love is there.
- His motivations are hard to read. A lot of the time he'll explain the things he does as being because he felt like it. Even in the Charlemagne tales he was often used for humor due to being fairly irrational and lacking common sense, and Fate rolls with that.
- He's brave and persistent.
- Despite being the weakest of the twelve paladins he has many accomplishments under his belt, as well as equally many failures. He's been to the moon.
- He has a shitton of magical items.
- He considers his hair ornaments an "irresistible proof of friendship" with his cousin Roland.
- It's rare for him to volunteer his gender, preferring to keep it a secret for amusement's sake. Whatever pronoun someone uses, he'll roll with it. He enjoys seeing the shock that comes with the reveal, which is the reason he doesn't offer it outside.
- He's very talkative, but has a habit of accidentally saying things that make everyone feel immensely awkward.
- He's been described as "curiosity in human form", and has explored all over the world as a result of it.
- Whenever he's not fighting, he goes to indulge in the ordinary pleasures of the world. Since he's been given a second chance at life, however short, he wants to enjoy it.
- He prefers physical form to the point where permission to keep it makes him dance for joy.
- The Holy Grail doesn't interest him. As a result, the only way to keep him in check is to be a Master he likes. If he doesn't like you... you're fucked as far as controlling him goes, he'll help you if he feels like it.
- He's well aware he's unreliable because of how impulsive he is. All decisions that he makes are made entirely by how he feels, his emotions completely ruling. He has an immense lack of restraint that he's fully aware of and not remotely ashamed of. He plays things fast and loose, not bothering to think too far ahead and rarely placing deadlines on how long he'll be involved with something for.
- He dislikes letting people die, so he'll help them as much as he can.
- His nature is to help others. That's why, despite not knowing what he would wish for, he was able to be summoned during the war. If someone is troubled, he'll help, without asking for any compensation. That's simply his way. He's immensely soft-hearted and will help even the lowest level of beings even if it was against the will of his own allies.
- Even when reduced to having no reason, he's incapable of doing bad things. He's so good at heart that he erases the possibility from his mind on an instinctive level.
- He has no real attachment to material goods and will freely loan even his precious magical items if it'll help others.
- He's undaunted by failure or mistakes. Though he might get depressed briefly, he'll get over it fast.
- He likes almost everything in the world and hates nothing. If he can be said to dislike anything, it's seeing someone cry while appealing for help.
- In battle, he wields a one-handed sword.
Noble Phantasms
La Black Luna: Magic Flute That Calls Panic
Rank: C
A hunting horn given to him by a good witch named Logistilla. It emits a magical sound described as being "similar in nature to the roar of a dragon, the cry of a giant bird, and the neighing of a divine horse", that strikes all targets within range with an "explosion of sound" that causes wide-scale damage. Anything killed by this will turn to dust instantly from the impact. Though it can destroy regular humans with ease, it's not truly effective against Servants due to its' weak power. However, the secondary aspect of it is believed to be the worst part, as it inflicts confusion and even temporary deafness upon those who hear it.
Casseur de Logistille: Destruction Declaration
Rank: C
A leather-bound book inherited from Logistilla. It has the information on how to break any magecraft of rank A and below, and also boosts the holder's magic resistance massively. It raises Astolfo's from a weak D to A, making him immune to modern mages and threatened only by immensely powerful magic wielders.
Hippogriff: Otherworldly Phantom Horse
Rank: B+
He can summon a legendary phantasmal being. Because the hippogriff should not exist in the world, it's capable of instant-long dimensional shifts. This would normally not be useful, however when this ability is spammed, it means that he becomes invisible and untargetable due to the repeated rapid shifting. The mana cost of this is immense, however, so it's only feasible for a very short time.
Trap of Argalia: Down with a Touch!
Rank: D
An ornate golden jousting lance taken from a knight named Argalia. Though it doesn't have any special killing abilities, it's said to cause anyone who's hit by it to fall down. When hit by it, even if the wound does not break through armor, the target's legs will become disabled for a time. Only through luck can it be overcome quickly. It works by placing a "wound" upon the spiritual body that cuts the flow of power and reverts the leg to spiritual form.
